As part of their programme in support of sports in Trinidad and Tobago, the HCL Group of Companies has donated  $15,000.00 as a contribution towards theirAwards ceremony of the Eddie Hart League for Football, held on April 30, 2006.  President George Maxwell Richards was the Keynote Speaker for the occasion.

HCL is proud to become a Golden Partner  with the Eddie Hart League for Football as this community based organization, which focuses on the youth of Trinidad and Tobago, fits hand in glove with HCL’s commitment to healthy lifestyles and the integration with communities in which the company builds a future.

Now in its 40th year of service to the community, the Eddie Hart League for Football promotes opportunities for the nurturing of talent as well as the psycho development of young people through involvement in sporting activities.

Many of the young players in the Secondary School League (East Zone) today receive their early exposure in the Youth Competition of the League.  Since 1967 the League has in fact  served as a ‘nursery for football development in East Trinidad and has provided the foundation for outstanding players like Stern John, Russell Latapy and Clayton Ince, and a number of other players who have gone on to become professional footballers on the international scene.

Over the past four years the League has sought to broaden its scope by introducing Women’s Football.   Avian Douglas, Kemica Alexander and Shanell Warrick are some of the talented female players emerging from this Women’s Programme.
